BIOGRAPHY

Angela Davies is an interdisciplinary artist based in Wales, working across the intersections of art, science, technology and nature. She explores phenomena of the natural world and perceptual experiences of it. The use of technologies within her artworks, encourage poetic engagements between people and place, to allow for new reflections upon the way the environment is experienced and imagined.

 

Angela completed her Masters at Manchester School of Art and has since exhibited on an international level and has work within public and private collections. She Co-Directs Studio MADE; a cross-disciplinary studio and gallery space in Denbigh, and is a resident artist at Pervasive Media Studio. She has undertaken residencies and commissions for Arts Council of Wales, Cadw, Ruthin Craft Centre, the National Trust and BBC Connected Studios with NESTA. She has been the recipient of several awards including: A-N New Collaborations Bursary to fund participation in the International Symposium of Electronic Art (ISEA2014), Innovate UK and the Arts Council, Arts + Technology creative accelerator programme at Manchester Digital Laboratory and the Innovate UK’s Technology Strategy Board competition for Light Choreographies.
