Designing Time

Paula Budd visited me at my studio at Ruthin Craft Centre today, to discuss the costume collaboration. I am in awe of Paula's craftsmanship, her design and making is admirable. She has expereince of working for costume design and has a history of working for Theatre Clwyd.

During her visit, we considered movement, fluidity, translucency and light in the design. A piece that would reflect mapping of place yet allow Angelina to move without limitation. We are both very excited about the design and over the next week, Paula will create a pattern for Angelina. In the meantime, I will test out materials that will allow for structure and movement, whilst also encompassing mapping that will be embellished into the piece.
